The short version: Your trips are stored in your own browser, not on our servers. We don't sell your data, we don't run ads, and we don't build advertising profiles. The only information we actively collect is your email address if you choose to give it to us.
1. What you upload, and where it goes
When you add confirmations to Skiplark — PDFs, screenshots, forwarded emails, or pasted text — that content is processed to extract travel details such as dates, times, locations, confirmation numbers, and access codes.
Your resulting trip data is saved locally in your web browser (using browser storage on your own device). It is not uploaded to or stored on Skiplark servers in the current version of the Service.
2. Third parties that may process your content
Anthropic — when AI extraction runs, the content you upload is sent to Anthropic's API to be read and structured. This happens using an API key you supply, and is subject to Anthropic's terms and privacy practices.
OpenStreetMap — map tiles are requested from OpenStreetMap servers to draw your route map. This reveals the general map area being viewed.
QR generation — for ticket entries, a QR image may be requested from a third-party QR service using the confirmation code.
Netlify — hosts the site and processes any form you submit. Standard server logs (including IP address) are handled by Netlify as part of hosting.
We do not sell, rent, or trade your information to anyone, and we do not use it for advertising.
3. Information we actively collect
Email address, if you submit it through a form on our site, used only to reply to you or send what you asked for.
Payment information, if you purchase, is handled entirely by Stripe. We never see or store your full card number.
Aggregate site analytics — privacy-respecting counts of page visits. We do not use tracking cookies for advertising and do not build cross-site profiles.
4. Information about your travel companions
Trips often contain other people's names and details. Please only upload information you have the right to share, and be thoughtful about who you send shared trip links to — those links contain sensitive details such as confirmation numbers and access codes.
5. Your control and your choices
Export — you can export any trip as a file at any time.
Delete — clearing your browser's site data for skiplark.com permanently erases your trips from that device. Deleting a trip in the app removes it.
Email — reply to any message from us, or write to skiplarkapp@gmail.com, to be removed from our list.
Requests — depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or port your personal information. Contact us and we'll honor applicable requests. Note that because trip data lives on your device, you already hold direct control over it.
6. Data retention
Trip data persists in your browser until you delete it or clear your browser data. Email addresses you give us are kept until you ask us to remove them. Payment records are retained by Stripe and by us as required for tax and accounting purposes.
7. Security
The site is served over HTTPS, and payments are handled by Stripe, a PCI-compliant provider. Because your trip data resides on your own device, its security also depends on the security of that device. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Children
Skiplark is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
9. International users
Skiplark is operated from the United States. If you use it from elsewhere, your information may be processed in the United States, where privacy laws may differ from those in your country.
10. Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle information — for example, when trips begin syncing through our servers in a future version — we will update this page and its effective date before that change takes effect.
